Our Story

Established in 2026 by Luke Ryan and Justine Verheul, Silver Mountain Theatre marks the next chapter of SoL Summer Theatre, with the support and send-off of Jennifer Austin Hughes.

Building on our roots, we are reimagining the company with a renewed vision for professional theatre, ambitious storytelling, and opportunities to grow both on and off the stage.

With the blessing of SoL Theatre Company, we believe that creating a new theatre company allows both organizations to grow with greater clarity, purpose, and creative freedom. By establishing two distinct companies with their own visions and artistic identities, each can pursue its values without compromising the other’s goals.

Together, we can offer our community more—not less. Two theatre companies, each with a unique approach and experience, create greater opportunities for artists, audiences, families, and patrons while enriching the cultural life of our community. We believe our shared presence strengthens both organizations and provides our community with more diverse, meaningful, and exciting theatrical experiences.

SoL Theatre Company remains the leading company for excellence in educational theatre while Silver Mountain Theatre will carry on the legacy of SoL Summer Theatre by creating professional work for a new audience of theatre lovers and patrons.
